Inspired by the freedom, grace, and fluid movement of avian life, Strive is a striking abstract sculpture defined by its dramatic, backward-arching silhouette and upward-reaching form. Hand-carved from lightweight, open-grained South Coast White Ash, the piece guides the natural growth of the timber rather than forcing it, allowing the curvaceous bird figure to emerge seamlessly.

Inspired by the rolling, tree-capped landscape of the New South Wales South Coast, the sculpture embodies the idea of reaching skyward and stretching beyond limits—bending over backwards in the pursuit of doing one's absolute best in life.

Treated with dark beeswax that settles deep into the timber's open pores and distinctive veins, and finished with a satin lacquer, the wood radiates a rich, subtle luster that enhances every ridge, crack, and grain texture.
